8. Plan/outline/draft final project
Look again at the assignment for the Final Project. For this assignment you will put together a detailed outline of your plan for the final presentation, and a first draft of a creative part of it. At the top of the file you should say what sort of format you are doing, whether it’s several short videos, a lecture presentation, a game, or something else.
You will submit two files. One will be a detailed outline of the presentation. The other will be a first draft of an attempt at some creative part of it.
The outline
The outline should be fairly detailed. If you’re doing a video or a game, you should have an idea of what scenes you will have and roughly how long they are. If you’re doing a presentation, you’ll want a detailed breakdown of how long you want to spend on each part (e.g., will you spend 30 seconds explaining the outline, then 3 minutes re-telling the story, then 2 minutes talking about what your story illustrates about the importance of NVidia GPUs, and so on, or will you begin with a 30 second description of one character in your story and then give a 60 second background on AI images and then spend 2 minutes talking about how they’re connected, and so on?)
Make sure that your outline includes space (part of the presentation if a presentation, or perhaps an attached document if some other format) to talk about all the ways that you used AI in making your presentation, whether that’s in brainstorming ideas, generating images, editing video, converting text to speech, anything else. Depending on your presentation topic, you might also talk about how this use is connected to your fiction.
The creative part
The creative part should be an ambitious attempt to do something that might not work out. Maybe try to generate an AI video for part of it. Or use AI to write a program that will do something interesting in your presentation. Or record a video of you and have a AI system edit it. The point of AI tools is to do something you couldn’t do without AI, so if you’re going to use one, try it out now. And if you’re not using AI, try making a version of one part of what you’ll do. You won’t be graded on succeeding, just on trying.
