First activity: Discuss data security of apps/services
Join a breakout room with a group of 4-5 people. Open the Google Doc (link removed) for this activity.
Open Assignment 7 (link removed). Tell everyone in the group which three apps/services had the privacy policies that you studied, and which ones were studied by the students that you gave feedback on. Write them all down on your group’s page. Your group should discuss what you learned about them and rate them from best to worst for user privacy based on what you learned from your own research, and that of the students you gave feedback on, including a sentence or two of comment about each. If your group can’t agree about some of the rankings, include a sentence or two of explanation of that.
Once you’re done, look at what the other groups are coming up with, and see if you agree or disagree.
After you’ve done this, move on to the second activity, which will involve your group breaking up into separate breakout rooms in groups of 2.
Second Activity: AI writing Turing test
Try the quiz I have created to see if your group can identify which passages were written by humans, and which were written by AI in imitation of those humans.
Third activity: Discuss this module’s ideas
Open up the Canvas page for module 8 (link removed) to remind yourselves of the videos for this module. Discuss these videos with each other. Make sure you spend at least a minute or two talking about each of the videos. Were there any ideas from any of them that you found particularly surprising, or interesting? Were there things you didn’t understand? Are there questions you want to ask me?
Look at the list of “Further watching/reading” links below the actual assignments. Are there some that look interesting to dig into further? Are there any you already looked at that some of the other people in your group might want to check out?
